Clean up the Windows desktop by automatically hiding all icons for items stored there.
The Windows desktop can very quickly become a chaotic catch-all. In addition to accumulating the many unnecessary shortcuts of the applications you have installed, it is very often used as a momentary storage area, especially for files that you want to access quickly.
To avoid this chaos and find an aesthetically acceptable desktop, Windows allows you to hide all the icons that are there. Items are not deleted and remain accessible by opening a file explorer window. Here’s how to clean your desktop and see your wallpaper again.
1. Hide icons
From the Windows desktop (quickly accessible using the Windows keyboard shortcut + D if you have several windows open on the screen), right-click, then in the contextual menu that appears, go to Display , and deselect the Show Desktop Items option.

All icons should then be gone from the Windows desktop, making room for your wallpaper.
2. Access desktop items
Now that the shortcuts and other files stored on the desktop are hidden, you will no longer be able to access them through this. Instead, you will need to open a Windows File Explorer window.

In the left column, pull down the Quick access menu. You should find the Office there. Click on it, and all of the files and shortcuts there should appear in Explorer.
