The May 2020 update of Windows 10 inaugurates an independent application for Cortana, Microsoft’s voice assistant. Here’s how to get it.
Windows 10’s last major update, May 2020 update, is now officially available.
If all users do not yet obtain it from the Windows update module, it is possible to force the installation of the update without having to wait for it to be made available.
Among the novelties brought in May 2020 update, Microsoft has inaugurated a new version of its voice assistant Cortana which now benefits from its dedicated application on Windows 10.
However, if you attempt to launch the assistant as is, you will probably face a wall, with the version of Cortana in place displaying a message explaining that the assistant is not yet available in France.

Here’s how to stop getting this error message.
1. Open the Microsoft Store
In the search box next to the Start menu, search for Microsoft Store and open the app.

2. Go to the updates
Click on the Learn More main menu, represented by three small dots and enter the Downloads and Updates menu.

3. Update Cortana
Logically, an update should be available for Cortana. Start the update by clicking on the download button and wait for the update to be retrieved and installed on your machine.

You can also go directly to the Cortana download page to download the latest version of the app.

4. Log in to Cortana
Once the Cortana update is properly installed, launch Microsoft’s voice assistant and connect your Microsoft account to it.

You can now use Cortana and ask her questions by dictating them or entering them directly from the keyboard.
Microsoft’s voice assistant, which looks like an instant messaging window, is now able to recognize natural language requests.
