Microsoft has been testing a surf game integrated into its web browser for several months. Now available to all users, here’s how to play it.
A few months ago, Microsoft unveiled a surfing game hidden in the developer version of its Edge web browser.
Microsoft has just made its game available to all users of its browser. You must first make sure that Edge is installed in version 83.0.478.37 on your machine. Here’s how to get started now.
1. Update Edge
To check the version of Edge installed on your machine, type edge: // settings / help in the address bar. The browser should then automatically check for and install the latest available update.

If you are not yet using the new version of Microsoft’s browser, you can directly download the installation file and install it manually on your computer.
- Download Microsoft Edge for Windows 10 (Free)
- Download Microsoft Edge for Windows 7/8 (Free)
2. Start the game
Playable offline, the game can be accessed directly by entering directly edge: // surf in the browser’s address bar.

It is also possible to launch it by clicking on the appropriate button when an error page is displayed in Edge.
3. Play in your browser
Getting started with Edge’s surf game is trivial. After selecting your surfer using the right and left keys of the directional pad, just press the Space bar on the keyboard to start a game or pause the game.

You will then have to act on the directional keys to give speed to your surfer and to direct him so that he avoids obstacles. The objective is obviously to cover the greatest possible distance. Note that the game can also be controlled with the mouse and even from a touch screen.
