Windows 10 May 2020 update introduced new accessibility tools. Among these, the text cursor that it is now possible to modify.
After long hours spent in front of a screen, eye strain makes it harder to see certain items on the screen. This is the case, for example, with the text cursor. But since the May 2020 update, things have changed.
Microsoft has introduced a new setting within its Ease of Access options to make the text cursor easier to see. You will be able to modify its size, but also, and above all, activate a colored indicator giving it increased visibility. Here’s how to activate it.
1. Open Settings
Click on the Start menu, then on the star wheel to access the Windows Settings panel.

2. Enter the ergonomics options
Then enter the section dedicated to Ease of Access. In the side column, enter the menu dedicated to the Text cursor.

3. Activate the cursor indicator
In the window that appears, choose to Enable Text Cursor Indicator. Then move on the blue handle to change the size of the text cursor.

Finally, you can choose one of the colors suggested by Windows to make the cursor more visible, or opt for a custom color by clicking on the appropriate button and modify the appearance of the cursor by modifying its thickness.

Now when you enter text into a word processor or any text field, you should see the colored cursor indicator you selected.
