The new version of the operating system of the iPhone inaugurates a new design in Safari. By default, the web browser displays the address bar at the bottom of the screen. It is however possible to find the old display.
iOS 15 has been officially available for a few hours for all iPhone owners. This new version, which includes many new features, inaugurates a new version of Safari. IPhone’s web browser now displays the address bar at the bottom of the screen by default.
This choice is supposed to improve the ergonomics of the browser, in particular by making it easier to use with one hand on devices with a large screen. When the address bar is at the bottom of the screen, it lets you switch between open tabs by simply sliding your finger across the address bar. But this change is likely to upset more than one.
If you are not convinced by this new configuration, do not panic. After receiving a lot of negative feedback from users during the iOS 15 beta test period, Apple has incorporated an option to let the user choose. You can easily find the old Safari display, with the address bar at the top of the screen. Here’s how.
Also to discover in video:
1. From Safari
If you have already opened Safari, you can change the position of the address bar on the fly very easily.
To do this, press the AA button to the left of the address bar. Then choose to Show Top Tab Bar. The address bar (and its tabs) should then migrate to the top of the screen.

Likewise, to return the address bar to the bottom of the screen, press AA again and choose to Show Bottom Tab Bar.

2. From iOS Settings
Apple has also provided an option in the Settings of iOS 15 to change the position of the address bar in Safari.
Open Settings, and go to the Safari menu. Scroll through the options offered until you reach those relating to Tabs.

To display the address bar at the bottom of the screen, select Tab Bar. However, to display it at the top of the screen, choose the Single tab option.
