Remove Bing from Windows 10 built-in search engine results with just a few clicks.
Since Windows 10 has been around, users have been able to use the search engine built into the operating system to launch queries directly into Bing, Microsoft’s search engine.
Until Windows 10 version 1909, Microsoft offered a solution to disable Bing from Windows search by changing a registry value. Unfortunately, with the May 2020 update and October 2020 update, this possibility has disappeared.
However, it is still possible to disable Bing from the search engine built into Windows 10 by using a new registry value. You will thus gain in performance since the search engine will only be devoted to the local search for files. Additionally, all advertisements displayed in Windows Search will be removed.
1. Create a restore point
Start by creating a restore point in Windows. In the event of an operating system problem or malfunction, you can easily go back to find a functional machine.
To create a restore point, click on the Start menu, search directly for Create a restore point, and click on the appropriate application.
In the window that appears, click the Create button, fill in the description of your restore point and validate by clicking Create.
Wait a few moments for Windows to create the restore point and click Close when the operation is complete.
2. Open the registry editor
Then open the Windows registry editor. To do this, you can go through the Start menu by directly searching for Registry Editor, or use the Windows + R keyboard shortcut, then type Regedit in the Run window.
3. Navigate in the registry
Once the Registry Editor window is open, click in the field displayed at the top of the window and navigate directly to the following location (you can copy and paste the path directly):

If the Explorer directory is missing from the Windows directory, right-click on the Windows directory, go to New, and click Key. A New Key directory should be created. Right click on it then choose to Rename it and give it the name Explorer.
4. Create a new value in Explorer
The Explorer directory you just created is empty by default. Right-click on it, or in the right pane, then in New, choose 32-bit DWORD Value.
Then name this value DisableSearchBoxSuggestions.
Then double-click on this value, then in the window that appears, replace the value displayed by default (0), by 1 to activate the DisableSearchBoxSuggestions value that you have just created. Then validate by clicking on OK.
5. Restart Windows
You can now close Registry Editor. To validate all your changes, restart your computer. If all went well, you should no longer see Bing appear in Windows search results.
And if, however, you change your mind that you want to find Bing in the Windows 10 search engine, you will only have to modify the value 1 by 0 of the value DisableSearchBoxSuggestions as seen in step 4.
