The latest version of Google’s web browser includes a hidden function that automatically groups together all the tabs in the same domain. Here’s how to activate it.
Multiplying the tabs open in the browser can very quickly make navigation chaotic within the different open pages. To avoid this, Google had introduced, after several months of tests, a function to group the tabs, by assigning for each group, a color and a name for each group created.
The Mountain View firm is now going further and testing in Chrome 87, an option to automatically group all tabs from the same domain. The function, under test, is not activated by default. Find out how to take advantage of it today.

1. Access hidden functions
Open a Chrome window, then in the address bar, go to the chrome: // flags page.
This page groups together all the experimental functions of the browser that Google is testing. While some of these functions end up being natively integrated into the browser, others are abandoned and disappear forever.

2. Look for the flag
In Chrome’s Experimental Features window, place your cursor in the search box and query for the Tab Groups keywords.
You should then see a Tab Groups Auto Create option appear in the results.

3. Activate the flag
At the end of the Tab Groups Auto Create line, click on the drop-down menu, and change the Default value to Enabled. Then click on the Relaunch button to restart the browser.

4. Use automatic tab grouping
In a Chrome window, open multiple web pages from the same website, and start over for different domains.
If all goes according to plan, Google Chrome should display a colored border on the active tab and under other tabs in the same domain. All the pages of the same website are thus grouped together.

Then right-click on the colored point displayed to the left of the first grouped tab, customize the color of the group, and enter the name of the group. You will now only have to click on the name of the tab group to expand or collapse it.
