Adobe’s Flash plugin, which had some success in the early 2000s, has officially bowed out. Find out how to permanently uninstall it from your computer.
That’s it. The Adobe Flash plug-in, a technology that revolutionized the web world in the early 2000s by offering the ability to create dynamic web pages, is officially dead. The software, which had undergone a final update in December, is no longer officially supported by Adobe, which also recommended its uninstallation. The plug-in download has also disappeared permanently from all Adobe pages.
To facilitate its uninstallation, Adobe has set up alerts that are displayed directly on the screen of Windows and macOS machines where the utility is still installed. If you see, or have seen, this alert displayed, take the opportunity to initiate the immediate uninstallation of the plug-in. You will only have to click on the Uninstall button and follow the indicated procedure.

If, however, you did not see this alert displayed, it is still possible to manually uninstall the plug-in. Here’s how :
1. Download the uninstallation utility
First, download the Flash Uninstall utility to your machine. This is an official tool made available by Adobe to allow users to cleanly uninstall Flash from their computer.
Download Flash Player Uninstaller for Windows (Free)
Download Flash Player Uninstaller for macOS (Free)
2. Run the uninstall utility
Once the Flash Uninstaller is downloaded to your machine, run the file. In the window that appears, just click the Uninstall button.

At the end of the uninstallation process, the tool will tell you that a restart of your machine is required to complete the operation.

Click on the Done button and restart your machine. Your operating system should now be cleaned of this plug-in with a thousand and one security holes.
