Motorola is strong in the budget and middle segment, but with the Edge 20 Pro, the manufacturer returns to the higher segment. If the specifications of the successor are correct, this device will compete with top phones such as Samsung’s S series.
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra specifications
Various sources do not agree on exactly what name it will be. Perhaps it will be the Motorola Edge 30 Pro, the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, or Motorola Edge X. Anyway, the specifications now available via Tech News being leaked don’t lie. Please note, these specifications have not been confirmed so we take them with a grain of salt.
Possible specifications | Motorola Edge 30 Ultra |
Screen: | 6.67-inch OLED FullHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels), 144Hz |
Processor: | Snapdragon “SM8450” |
Random access memory: | 8GB or 12GB LPDDR5 |
Storage Memory: | 128GB + 256GB (UFS3.1) |
Cameras: | 50MP wide-angle camera, 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, 2MP depth camera |
selfie camera: | 60MP |
Battery: | 5,000 mAh, 68 watts fast charging, no wireless charging |
Android version: | Android 12 |
Extras: | IP52 |
The most striking specifications are the 60 MP selfie camera and 68 watt fast charging. There is not yet a selfie camera with that many megapixels, and 68 watts of fast charging will be new for a Motorola phone. The Snapdragon “SM8450” would refer to Qualcomm’s top Snapdragon processor of 2022, the Snapdragon 898.
There are also details that are not immediately reminiscent of a high-end phone, and that is the IP52 certification, the FullHD + resolution and the lack of wireless charging and a telephoto camera. We will have to wait for the launch of this phone to know for sure if it can be among the absolute top. In any case, Qualcomm is gearing up for its Tech Summit later this month, where the chipmaker will unveil its new processor. Motorola is expected to be there too, so hopefully we’ll hear more about the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra then.
What do you think of these specifications? Is the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra a possible successor to your current phone? Let us know in the comments below this article.
