Update for your Polestar 2 – Want an extra 68 horsepower? That’s 1000 euros

There are currently three versions of the Polestar 2: the Standard Range Single Motor (224 hp, 444 km), the Long Range Single Motor (231 hp, 542 km) and the Long Range Dual Motor (408 hp, 482 km). Most of the latter are probably driving around, since it has been on the market since 2020.

Polestar 2 upgrade for buyers only

Still, the over-the-air update is only available to a limited number of Polestar 2 riders. Lease drivers can’t take advantage of it, only people who actually bought the electric sedan. And there will be no more than a few in the Netherlands.

0-100 km/h time down to 4.4 seconds

But are you one of those people who paid more than 50,000 euros out of their own pocket for a Polestar 2 Long Range Dual Motor? Then you can now add 1000 euros extra for a nice update. The new software lifts the two electric motors from 408 hp and 660 Nm to 476 hp and 680 Nm. The result is a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in 4.4 seconds. That was 4.7 seconds.

Polestar will send you new stickers

According to Polestar, the over-the-air update will not negatively affect the consumption of the Long Range Dual Motor, so you don’t have to worry about that. For the necessary street cred the manufacturer will send you a few stickers after the upgrade: a Polestar Engineered decals for the grille and two spec decals for behind the front wheels.
