Using Calendar in Windows 10

Manage all your appointments and birthdays with the Calendar app. The app comes by default on Windows 10 computers.

Windows Calendar app requires an email address to function. Preferably one from a webmail service, such as Outlook or Gmail. Calendar does not work with provider mail. But most webmail services have their own calendar function. In addition, Windows Calendar does not work on a smartphone. So why would you choose this agenda? If you like to receive appointment reminders on your computer, Calendar is the answer. Notifications also appear if Calendar is not open and you can link multiple email addresses to it. This way you will never miss an appointment or birthday!

Open the app via the Start button > agenda.

To use Calendar, the app must have access to an email account. An account is probably already associated with the first use. Calendar is automatically linked to the Microsoft account with which you are logged in to the computer. In addition, Calendar is also linked to the Windows Mail app. The email address you use for Mail is also in Calendar. Link a different or extra email address like this:

  • Click the gear icon at the bottom left Linking an account to Windows Calendar.
  • The Settings menu appears on the right of the screen. Click here Manage accounts.
  • click on Add Account. A new window will appear.
  • Choose the type of account you are going to add, for example Outlook.com or gmail.
  • Enter your email address and click Next one.
  • Enter the corresponding password and click To register or Next one. When signing up a Gmail account, click now To allow.
  • If necessary, click on Next one and click Ready.

The account is now linked to Calendar and automatically to Windows Mail as well.

The Calendar menu is collapsible. As a result, sometimes you only see a blue bar with some icons and sometimes the whole menu. You can change this:

  • Click the three horizontal bars icon in the top left to collapse or expand the menu.
