WiZ is the brother of Philips Hue and so you can expect quality lamps. Read the review of the WiZ Squire table lamp here.

Like Philips Hue, WiZ has many products to make your home smarter and both are owned by Signify. With many (older) products from the Philips Hue range, you need a special bridge to use them, which is not necessary with the WiZ products. They are directly connected to WiFi (and/or Bluetooth) and are controlled via an app in your smartphone or tablet, such as the WiZ A60 E27. Another advantage of the WiZ products is that they are generally cheaper than the Philips Hue products. WiZ regularly comes up with new lighting products, including the WiZ Squire table lamp discussed here.

WiZ Squire table lamp
The Squire from WiZ is a table lamp with colored LED lighting. It has a striking design: the lamp is round, has white edges, is slanted at the top with sharp edges and rounded at the bottom. It is also striking that both the top and bottom edges are equipped with LED lighting (WiZ calls this dual zone). It is made of plastic, is 13.4 by 13.4 by 13.4 centimeters and weighs about 680 grams. With this you can also easily move it to another place in your home or even take it with you to your garden or somewhere else. The built-in LED lamp has a lifespan of up to 25,000 hours, so you can go ahead.

WiZ App
Installing the Dutch WiZ app (available in Android and iOS) is easy. Then you follow the instructions to create a room step by step and then connect the lamp, whereby you can also automatically install several lamps at the same time. To use the automatic mode, you have to set the router to 2.4 GHz, which is often the case, otherwise you can install it manually. From now on you control the Squire via the app. The setting options are clear and easy to handle. For example, you can set the color temperature between 2,200 and 6,500 Kelvin and the brightness setting and the on-off switch are easy to operate. By the way, you can also switch the Squire on and off via a button on the front.
In addition, in the app you can also set different color schemes and have fixed or different pulsating lights.

WiZ Squire usage
Although I mention the WiZ Squire as a table lamp here, I use it differently. I put him in a corner in the room that was a bit dark at first. Thanks to a beautiful color effect, this corner is now cozy and warmly lit: at the bottom it spreads a soft glow, while the walls are provided with warm colorful light.
Incidentally, you can also control it via a voice assistant, in other words you can dim or brighten the light with a voice.

WiZ Squire conclusion
The WiZ Squire is a user-friendly lamp that does what it promises. It is connected in no time, you can operate it easily and there are plenty of color settings possible.
