While sifting through the various patent offices, we regularly come across strange creations. However, we cannot keep the cheerful vehicle that we ran into today.

In the depths of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) database, we have uncovered patent drawings of a very peculiar little car. The plates need little explanation, because we are clearly dealing with a delivery van dressed as a cow.

Cattle have often played a role in an article on AutoWeek.nl, but not before in such a concrete form as today. We see a white box of blocks that is apparently covered with black dots in Microsoft Paint. As if that weren’t enough, the cart has a cow snout with nose ring and we even find ears and horns on the newcomer.

Are we dealing here with a carnival float or is something serious hiding under the bizarre carriage? The latter turns out to be the case. This ‘cattle cart’ is a creation of the Inner Mongolia Technical University in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China. Fortunately, the patent application also provides a wonderful description of the beef van. We are dealing with an – yes – ‘intelligent unmanned vehicle, type: cow’. Thanks to the hardware placed on the roof, the nameless delivery man must be able to autonomously come through the street to deliver his goods and is electrically powered.

Are you going to see the jolly delivery van or moving food stall in the Netherlands? Of course not. After all, the grass is always greener on the other side.
