From now on Citroën offers the MPVs Berlingo and SpaceTourer exclusively with an electric powertrain. With the ë-Berlingo and ë-SpaceTourer, no compromises are made compared to the outgoing fuel models.

Citroën will now only accept new orders from private individuals for electric versions of the Citroën ë-Berlingo and ë-SpaceTourer. The orders for fuel copies, which were placed at the end of last year, will be delivered in the course of this year. After that, the entire range of the Berlingo and SpaceTourer passenger cars will consist solely of electrically powered cars.

That shouldn’t be a problem. For its electric models, Citroën has made no compromises in terms of comfort, space and flexibility. For example, the extended ë-Berlingo offers space for seven passengers. The car has a 100 kW / 136 hp electric motor with a top speed of 130 km/h. The 50 kWh battery has a range of up to 280 km (according to the WLTP test) and can be recharged to 80 percent in 30 minutes on a 100 kW fast charger. The ë-SpaceTourer has a range of 230 km. However, it can also be ordered with a 75 kWh battery, which can be used for up to 330 km. The spacious MPV is available in three length variants, which can accommodate six to nine people.

The electrification decision is a new step in accelerating the electrification of Citroën’s model portfolio. The brand opts for the two MPVs in order to be able to offer the comfort models at lower running costs – and also with a smaller eco-footprint. However, Citroën continues to offer the seven-seater MPV Grand C4 SpaceTourer with a fuel engine. Also, the change does not affect the commercial vehicle versions of the Berlingo and the SpaceTourer (called the Jumpy).
