The Audi Q6 e-tron is coming. This new model in Audi’s electric range will be placed on the PPE platform, which was developed together with Porsche. Because some layers of camouflage material have been peeled off a prototype, a better picture is created of what the SUV will finally look like.

In the ‘View to the Future’ section, our illustrator already looked ahead at the Q6 e-tron. The wrapped prototype seems to have some similarities to the illustration, especially when it comes to the placement of the LED headlights. These are split into two separate parts: the upper strip is for the daytime running lights, the lower for the low and high beam. Incidentally, there is no shortage of light in the darkness with this prototype, because the car also has two huge spotlights on the roof. It is evident that they will not make it to the production stage.

At the rear of the prototype, Audi does its best to disguise the lighting. On the test Q6 e-tron, the continuous light bar that optically connects the rear lights, a feature of the E-trons, is not visible. However, it is likely that it is hidden under the packaging. The layout of the rear lights is more visible than before and follows the shape that we already know from other Audis. The window line of the Q6 e-tron can be compared with that of the Q4 e-tron. The larger model only has an extra side window behind the rear doors.

The Q6 e-tron is expected to debut at the end of this year. In terms of positioning, the Q6 e-tron will be placed below the current E-tron, which will probably be called Q8 e-tron later. The PPE platform has an 800-volt on-board voltage and, according to Audi, can handle charging capacities of up to 270 kW. The exact specifications of the Q6 e-tron are not yet known, but the figures of the A6 e-tron Concept offer a taste of what is possible with the PPE platform: 476 hp, 800 Nm of torque, a battery pack of 100 kWh and a range of 700 kilometers. Sister brand Porsche is using the platform for the electric Macan for the first time, which will appear in 2023.
