Rumor: ‘Google Pixel Notepad will cost at least 1,400 euros’

The prices of Google’s upcoming foldable phone, the Pixel Notepad, have been leaked. The phone will cost $1400, and that price is expected to translate into around $1400-1500. The actual price in euros is not yet known.

Pixel Notepad Price

There have been reports for some time that Google is working on its first foldable phone. For a while it seemed that Google had scrapped the plans for the device, but at the beginning of last week new information suddenly appeared and the name ‘Pixel Notepad’ leaked. The device comes with a small and a large screen and the design is reminiscent of the Galaxy Z Fold 3 from Samsung.

It also immediately became clear that Google’s foldable phone will be cheaper than the Samsung phone that appeared last year with a suggested retail price of 1799 euros. Now it has also been leaked how much the Google Pixel Notepad will cost in the United States. The phone will be on the market for $ 1399, sources report 9To5Google.

It is not yet known how that price will be translated into euros. If we take into account the American and European prices for the Pixel 6 series, we expect the Pixel Notepad to cost between 1400 and 1500 euros.

Similarity to OPPO Find N

The sources further state that the Pixel Notepad will resemble the foldable OPPO Find N more than the Z Fold 3 from Samsung. OPPO launched a foldable phone at the end of last year that is a bit wider and more compact compared to Samsung’s phone. So Google seems to be working with that idea as well. You can discover our hands-on with the OPPO Find N here.

In the previous leak, when the name ‘Pixel Notepad’ was announced, it was already clear that Google will use a simpler camera setup with its foldable compared to its Pixel 6 series, in order to lower the price of the phone. Now we learn that Google will be using the 12.2MP Sony IMX363 sensor as the main camera, which the company has used in its phones since the Pixel 3 series. There will also be a 12MP wide-angle camera, and Google will use its own Tensor chipset in the Pixel Notepad.

Launch end of 2022

Google will launch the Pixel Notepad worldwide by the end of 2022. It is expected to launch in the United States first. Google may want to first form a picture of the reactions and first sales figures before the phone becomes more widely available.

Of course we don’t have a complete picture of the Pixel Notepad yet, but what do you think of Google’s foldable phone and its price? Are you interested in the device, or is the price rather disappointing? Let us know in the comments at the bottom of this article.
