If you often get spam messages, it’s worth checking out the new OnMail.

Review OnMail: determine from whom you want to receive mailThis email app for Android turns things around: Instead of messages automatically appearing in your inbox to be deleted if they’re not wanted, you pre-determine which contacts can email you. Once you receive a message from a sender, you must first accept the person. Only then can message traffic take place.

For the principle, the makers seem to have looked at social media with a slanted eye, where it is also not possible by default to send a message to an unknown person. These messages often end up in a temporary mailbox and don’t appear in the primary folder until the contact is “allowed”. You can add multiple email accounts to the app.

The app has a well-arranged structure, where you not only see the most recent messages at a glance, but also get an overview of recently received e-mail attachments. This is a relatively new app that is still being worked on. A new version is regularly released with additional functions, such as the possibility to provide larger attachments with password protection.
