Skoda shows sporty Fabia Monte Carlo

Skoda gives the new Fabia a sporty look and shows the first sketches of the Fabia Monte Carlo. It remains with external finery, because the Monte Carlo does not get a more powerful engine. It remains to be seen whether he will come to the Netherlands.

The exterior of the Fabia does not change very thoroughly with the Monte Carlo, but various sporty accents distinguish it from the rest of the range. The front bumper is stripped of its fog lamps and gets two extra tabs on either side at the bottom and the side skirt is finished in contrasting black. The rear seems to change most prominently, as the Monte Carlo in the sketches has a real diffuser. Furthermore, Skoda paints the roof and mirror caps black and the rear lights are dark. Whether the latter will also return to the production version remains to be seen.

In the interior, the Fabia Monte Carlo sports seats with integrated headrests and a three-spoke sports steering wheel with the Monte Carlo badge. Skoda applies red accents on the seats and in the dashboard. The lower part of the dashboard and the inserts in the front doors have a carbon look. All in all, the Monte Carlo is to the Fabia about what the R Line is to the Volkswagen Polo. The name ‘Monte Carlo’ is a nod to the rally history of the brand. Skoda first introduced the version on the second generation Fabia in 2011.

However, there is a good chance that the Fabia in tracksuit will not come our way. Previously, Skoda hoisted the Kamiq and the Scala in the Monte Carlo jacket, which were not available in the Netherlands through the official channels.
