Kia is about to perform a facelift on the largest SUV it has in its portfolio. We are not talking about the Sorento, but about the 5 meter long Telluride.

With its 4.81 meters, the Sorento is certainly not a small boy, but the Telluride that Kia has on the menu in the United States is just 19 centimeters longer. The Telluride was presented at the North American International Auto Show in January 2019 and is far from being replaced in terms of age. Kia does have a facelifted version in the development rooms, a car that can now be seen in a camouflage suit.

If there’s one thing car manufacturers want to outshine each other in terms of design, it’s lighting. Headlights and taillights become more extravagant every year, often to give a model a ‘high-tech’ look. So it’s no wonder that Kia seems to focus mainly on the lighting when updating the Telluride. The headlights seem to keep their shape, but their interpretation changes completely. The light signature will soon be made up of vertical stripes, so the striking, almost square LED daytime running lights/turn indicators of the current model will be finished. In addition, Kia seems to be choosing a new pattern for the grille of its largest SUV.

The American consumer can also probably count on a renewed interior. It is quite possible that the infotainment screen, which is now separate from the instrument panel, merges with the clock shop, to form more of one whole, just like with the smaller Sorento and Sportage.

We expect Kia to present the updated Telluride in the second half of this year. The updated version will not come to Europe either.
