The Google Home app will receive a completely new design in the coming weeks, which has already been discovered. With that design you will be able to operate smarthome faster. You can adjust the brightness of lamps or the volume of your Nest speaker faster.
New Google Home design
Do you have a Chromecast, TV with Android TV, smart lamps or a smart speaker at home? Then you will soon be able to enjoy a new interface for the Google Home app. That has 9To5Google discovered that already shares images of the design. Google wants to make the overview of your smart devices more functional so that you can operate them faster without tapping them first.
Google will first of all get rid of the current design in which all your devices with an associated image are represented in the overview. That image disappears and gives way to the name of each device. At the same time, that name also serves as a button and a scroll bar. In the case of a speaker or smart bulb, you can use the slider to adjust the volume and brightness. Just tap the button once and you’ll see even more options and settings.

The new appearance is therefore much more functional, because with the current design you will find at most a button under every smart lamp or device to switch it on or off or to play music. The improved design will be available in the Home app for iOS and Android in the coming weeks.
What do you think of this new look? Will this make you more inclined to use Google Home to control smarthomes? And did you know that with the Action Blocks, Google also has another handy way to add buttons for your smarthome devices to the home screen?
