The new upright AVM FRITZ!Box 4060 is a pure router and therefore has no modem.

You connect the 2.5 Gbps port via an RJ45 Ethernet cable to another router whose cable or ADSL modem you use, or to a fiber optic modem. It is a high-end Wi-Fi 6/AX6000 router with a total bandwidth of 6000Mbps, spread over the 2.4GHz band with a total of 1200Mbps and two channels on the 5GHz band with 2400Mbps each. The router also has a built-in 1Gbps switch with three ports and a USB 3.0 connection for connecting external storage such as a USB stick, SSD or printer. The link with analog telephony is no longer available. Many provider profiles are available for the WAN link.
The FRITZ!OS operating system is basically the same for all AVM routers and in this case is version 7.29. The OS is fully equipped with, among other things, a DECT telephone exchange for six devices, VPN and NAS/multimedia services and SMART Home based on DECT ULE. Also known are the extensive user interface and management services with log files and the apps for your phone/tablet to operate the router (MyFRITZ!), make calls (Fon), measure the wireless performance and the optimal position of the optional FRITZ! to determine repeaters.
With a Samsung Galaxy S10+ and Wi-Fi 6 with the WLAN app speeds measured up to about 600 Mbps. The net transported data amounts to approximately 450 Mbps at a short distance from the router to approximately 30 Mbps in a remote corner of the attic, without aids and after two concrete layers.
A modern router with good range.
