To spare

Fuel prices are skyrocketing, possibly causing us to slow down on the highway. This is apparent from research by the National Road Traffic Data Portal (NDW).
The National Road Traffic Data Portal (NDW) has compared the average speed on highways in the period from 22 to 28 February with that of a week ago. The speeds were measured between 19:00 and 06:00 on roads where you can drive at 120 km/h or 130 km/h between those times. What seems? On 37 percent of the roads, the average speed last week was more than 1 kilometer per hour lower than a month ago.
According to NDW, a decrease in average speed of 1 km/h is not rare, but the organization does call the fact that the average speed has dropped on a large part of the roads. NDW suspects that this decrease in speed is related to rising fuel prices. No decrease in average speed was observed on half of the highways where NDW speed was measured.
On March 10, the average national suggested retail price (GLA) of a liter of Euro95 (E10) according to UnitedConsumers reached a depressing €2.50. After that, fuel prices dropped slightly again, but with a GLA of €2.44, a liter of Euro95 is still very expensive. However, as of April 1, an excise duty reduction will be implemented. The excise duty on a liter of petrol will in any case be reduced by 17.3 cents until the end of this year. The excise duty on a liter of diesel is reduced by 11.1 cents. The excise duty reduction on LPG and LNG will be reduced by 4.1 cents.
