Solution expected
Red Bull Racing has found out what caused the double outage in Bahrain last weekend. The team expects to have no more problems next weekend.
The first Grand Prix of the new Formula 1 season ended dramatically for Red Bull Racing when both cars came to a halt in the closing stages of the race. The day after the race, it was revealed that there may have been a problem with the fuel pump, a part made by Magneti Marelli and common to all cars in the field. dr. Helmut Marko gives in conversation with F1 Insider It is now clear that there was indeed a problem with the fuel supply: “To put it simply, a vacuum in the fuel delivery system caused the engine to run out of fuel,” said the Austrian. He also directly refers to the rumors that Red Bull was driving with too little fuel to the land of fables: “There was still enough fuel in the tanks of both cars.”
The most important news for fans of the team is that the problem is probably easy to fix. dr. Marko expects the team to have a solution for it this weekend and so the Red Bull will not play tricks again. Also, the problem is not with the power source itself. What may be a concern around the power source is power relative to Ferrari. Marko sees a ‘very big lead’ at Ferrari when it comes to that. Nevertheless, he expects Red Bull in Saudi Arabia to be strong enough to go for the win this weekend. Last year Max Verstappen finished in second place after an eventful race.
