The Netatmo smoke detector looks modern, but is considerably larger than the discussed Netatmo carbon monoxide detector.

The round unit has a diameter of 115 mm and is 44 mm high in the color off-white. The bottom plate must be screwed to the ceiling, after which you screw the detector onto it and immediately activate the detector. The internal, non-replaceable, batteries have a life of 10 years.
You connect the detector to the Security app via Bluetooth, after which the WiFi link is also established. With Android and iOS, the detector becomes visible in the app and you can view the WiFi status and test the 85dB siren. With iOS you will then be asked to connect with Apple’s Home Kit, which makes more data available for smart follow-up actions.
The user-friendliness of the ad-filled app could be better and smart systems other than Apple’s Home Kit are not supported. It alarms with an alarm text and sound notification, via WiFi and mobile internet, to the Netatmo Security app and Apple’s Home app. It is nice that it checks itself, for example the battery and Wi-Fi status.
