There are now many VPN providers. AirVPN was founded by a group of ‘privacy activists’ with the aim of making online data exchange as secure as possible.

The OpenVPN protocol establishes a secure tunnel between the local computer and the Air VPN servers. No logs are kept of internet traffic. To handle the VPN traffic, AirVPN uses the Eddie client, which has a version for Windows.
The program has a clear structure: on the left you will find an overview of the available VPN servers. Each server has a rating (in the column Score), which expresses how fast and reliable it is. In addition, you can see how heavily the server is currently under load, so that you can select another one. You can also choose a server in a specific country (via the tab countries†This comes in handy if you want to use an online service that is not supported in the Netherlands or Belgium.
The app also indicates the speeds at which uploads and downloads take place: keep in mind that in practice this is slower than a connection without VPN security.
