More and more car manufacturers are announcing that they will restart production in European factories. Mercedes-Benz and Volvo now also announce that it is almost time.
Carefully, there is some light at the end of the corona tunnel now that various car manufacturers are continuing production. Volkswagen previously announced that production would resume in part of Europe the following week, and in Europe and other places in the world the following week. Now there is also positive news from Mercedes-Benz and Volvo. Starting with Mercedes, which, according to Reuters, will resume production next week in Hamburg, Berlin and Untertürkheim. Work is also underway on a restart in Sindelfingen and Bremen.
Volvo is even now working again in the parts factory in Olofström, Sweden. Next week, the car factory near Gothenburg should also start up again, reports Automotive News. The men and women in the engine factory in Skovde are therefore back to work. All in all, Swedish production has halted for almost a month. In Sweden, incidentally, much milder measures against the spread of the coronavirus still apply than in other Northern and Western European countries. It is reportedly not yet certain whether the measures in Belgium will already allow the Volvo factory in Ghent to be given the green light again next week.
