Image seems to be becoming increasingly important, so we looked at a creative set with three full-HD cameras for creators.
To quickly take your video production to the next level, Logitech for Creators has developed the camera kit Mevo. Logitech for Creators is a brand extension of the well-known company Logitech. We review the Mevo 3-Pack consisting of three full-HD cameras, in addition, two table stands and a floor stand are included. With the Mevo Multicam app, the overall control of recordings takes place on the phone/tablet or directly via live streaming.
INSTALLATION
Installation begins by screwing the three cameras onto the optional stands and connecting the USB cable to an optional USB hub with a separate power supply for charging. The cameras each have a battery that has recording capacity for 6 hours. In this way, the set can also be used on location.
The Mevo Multicam app is then installed on the phone or tablet and opened, which guides you step by step through the (English) installation. A Bluetooth connection is established with the cameras, with which they are linked to the local WiFi network via settings. If there is no WiFi available at the shooting location, one of the cameras can be connected via a 4G LTE hotspot, which then forms a bridge for the other cameras. This completes the basic configuration and allows direct recording in quality from 360p (2500 Kbps with 96 Kbps stereo) to 1080p (20,000 Kbps with 128 Kbps stereo). The recording resolution can be set separately for recording on the phone/tablet, live and optional SD card. The sound to be recorded can be selected from one or more sources. Optionally, a separate microphone can be connected to a camera via a 3.5mm jack or USB-C.
RECORDINGS
The cameras are equipped with an F2.8 lens with a Sony sensor that guarantees an excellent image. The focus is fixed and the viewing angle is 83.7°. The picture and sound are optimized automatically or can be adjusted manually. Six customizable transitions are available for video transitions. There is also an Auto-director where two images can be selected and automatically switched between them. Furthermore, there is Crop/Zoom Editing and a Actionmenu for further image adjustments. Text and images can also be inserted in various ways.
All three images, in combination with the end result, are displayed on the smartphone or tablet and can be selected manually via tap or via auto-director for recording or broadcasting. You can go live directly to Facebook, Twitch, Youtube, Vimeo or RTMP.
