We don’t think many of these have been sold here in the Netherlands, but in the United States as many as 3,250 owners of a URAL sidecar can report to the dealer. The wheel spokes of a number of models are not properly tensioned, which can damage the rims.

With the trade boycott for Russian goods as a result of the war in Ukraine, parts supply will not be able to go through the regular channels, but something tells us that that is not necessarily a bad thing.
It has been found that the spokes of all three wheels of all ARAL sidecars, produced between 15 September 2011 and 3 October 2017, were not properly secured, which could cause the spokes to come loose and deform the rims.
In the United States, they have solved this by purchasing the spoked wheels from the Italian supplier Italcerchio SRL. In Russia itself, they switched to another supplier in 2018.
It is not the first time that the spoked wheels of the URAL sidecars have been discredited. In 2013, 273 sidecars were recalled in the US because the spoked wheel rims had not been properly heat treated, which could cause them to crack or break.
