With the 5 Electric, MG has a unique model in Europe, but that has not yet satisfied MG’s craving for electrical expansion in various niches. MG comes with an electric roadster of which new details have been shown.

The Dutch delivery range consists of the fully electric ZS and Marvel R and also includes the plug-in hybrid EHS. In addition, you can recently turn to the brand for the first electric station wagon on the European market. MG will soon expand its delivery range with the already presented 4 Electric, a hatchback that should make life difficult for the Volkswagen ID3, Cupra Born and Renault Megane E-Tech Electric. MG’s parent company SAIC is not yet satisfied and also comes with an electric roadster. We have found new images of that two-seater.

Details MG Cyberster

The electric two-seater convertible to which MG is the production version of the Cyberster Concept that saw the light of day in April 2021. To be fair, you probably won’t slide out of your chair from the look of it. AutoWeek was able to show you the patent plates of that final version in June and the latest detail shots confirm that we were right. Still, the new images are interesting.

The doors of the MG Cyberster open upwards.

For example, it becomes clear that MG’s electric fun machine, which may simply be called Cyberster, will have up-hinged doors. scissor doors so, since butterfly doors move outwards as well as upwards. In addition, we see that the MG Cyberster gets a very stubborn steering wheel. Or rather: no steering wheel but a yokelike copy that Tesla can deliver in the Model S and Toyota in the bZ4X.

MG Cyberster: definitely not a stripped-down interior.

In addition, we see something of the interior of the MG Cyberster for the first time. That will certainly not be a Spartan environment. The dashboard is made up of three hefty screens and is completely focused on the driver. In addition, we see a vertical reinforcement bar, a visual extension of the line that starts deep behind the instrumentation. The center console seems to consist of a digital screen.

A peculiar steering wheel for the electric MG Cyberster.

Certainly not a traditionally simplistic interior, as you may know from the MGs from the distant past. We also learn that the layout of the rear lights – how could it be otherwise – is inspired by the flag of the United Kingdom. Oh yes, the layout of the headlights is inspired by the symbol for, among other things, radioactivity (photo 6). Cosy.

It is not yet known when MG will present the Cyberster in its entirety, but it does not seem to take long.
