Locations not yet known

This year, just like last year, there are three race weekends in Formula 1 in which a sprint race is held. That will be the case again next year. It is not yet known where the sprint races will take place.
There will be three more sprint races in the Formula 1 season of 2023. There may be even more, but the FIA has only agreed to three sprint races for the time being, reports racefans.net. The organization of Formula 1 and the F1 teams actually wanted to keep six, only it is not such a party for the time being. The FIA first wants to investigate the extent to which there is support for this among its staff in Formula 1.
The principle of the sprint races remains the same. This means that qualifying will take place on Friday and that result will determine the starting grid for the sprint race on Saturday. The result of the 100 km sprint race then determines the starting grid for the Grand Prix on Sunday. Points will also be awarded to the top 8 finishers. The winner gets 8 points, the runner-up 7, and so on.
Just like this year, the fastest man in qualifying on Friday will officially be in the books as the one to take pole position, even if he could subsequently lose the first starting spot for the GP due to the sprint race. Last year, the winner of the sprint race was still regarded as the one who could officially record pole position behind his name for that weekend. Essentially it makes no difference except for the stats and when the pole position award is handed out.
It is not yet known where the three sprint races will be held next year. This year there were already two, in Imola and in Austria. The third takes place in Brazil.
