Mini Aceman concept: electric crossover almost unveiled

More than a month ago, Mini hinted that a compact electric crossover is on the way. A then nameless model, of which we only got to see a part of the nose and a rear light. Now we also see the contours of the front and some other details. The name is now known: Concept Aceman. A study model that will also be unveiled on Wednesday, as we now know.

Mini is still not very generous with information, although we already know that the Concept Aceman looks forward to a compact crossover that will probably be included in the range under the new Countryman. Unlike its big brother, the production Aceman only comes with an electric powertrain. Such a special newcomer calls for special details. For example, we see a part with a kind of LED pixels colored ‘grille’ in which part of the Union Jack can be seen. The headlights are instantly recognizable as those of a Mini, but have a special LED signature. Together (as we know from Mini) the rear lights form the flag of the United Kingdom, but at the same time a kind of arrow that points to the center of the car.

Mini Concept Aceman

In addition to a concrete preview of a new model, the Mini Concept Aceman will become a showcase for more sustainable production. Mini no longer uses leather for the interior and we count on special materials for the upholstery, among other things. The Mini Vision Urbanaut already gave a first in this area. As said, we will know more on Wednesday. Incidentally, there is more electrical news in the barrel. The new three-door Mini will also have an electric powertrain, although combustion engines will remain in the range, just like with the Countryman. The Mini Convertible may be introduced to electric drive for the first time. At least that seems to be the hint that the brand gives with the one-off Mini Electric Convertible presented last week.
