World Championship in sight?

Things are not going well for Ferrari this season. Still, team boss Mattia Binotto believes that the chances of winning the world championship are not yet lost. The Italian says he sees ‘no reason’ why Ferrari cannot win the remaining ten races of the season.
After the French Grand Prix, the evaluation in Maranello will not have been particularly mild. Charles Leclerc made a mistake and ended up in the tire stacks, allowing Max Verstappen to extend his lead in the world championship to 63 points. At Carlos Sainz, the team itself threw a spanner in the works. While Sainz was battling Sergio Perez, he was told to go into the pits. The Spaniard refused, but Ferrari brought him in ten laps before the end of the race. As a result, he lost quite a few positions and eventually had to fight back to fifth place.
Despite these blunders, team boss Mattia Binotto still sees opportunities for Ferrari to close the gap with Red Bull and win the world title. “I don’t count the points,” the Italian says opposite Motorsport.com. “We are focused on getting the maximum result in every race. That didn’t happen at Paul Ricard, but we are already targeting Hungary and going for a 1-2 there.” Binotto is especially confident in the car’s potential. So much so that he thinks Ferrari is ready for a string of victories. “There is no reason why we can’t win the remaining ten races until the end of the season,” he says optimistically. He also compliments the drivers. “The potential is there. The drivers are fantastic, so I’m quite positive.”
Despite his lead, Verstappen is also wary of the fast Ferrari: “The lead we have is great, but probably also slightly larger than it should be, if you only look at the speed of both cars,” the Dutchman said earlier. opposite The Telegraph.
