The Panigale V4 S bikes from the Race of Champions of the 2022 World Ducati Weekend, won by Pecco Bagnaia, had all been sold in a matter of hours after being put up for sale online by Ducati last Monday.
“The Lenovo Race of Champions, along with the parade, was the most exciting aspect of this 11th edition of World Ducati Week,” said Patrizia Cianetti, Ducati Marketing and Communications Director. “The tens of thousands of fans connected via live streaming or watching the international TVs broadcasting the race, along with the extraordinary cheers from the grandstands of the track, reaffirm Ducati’s ability to give life to unique experiences that capture the passion and fuel the enthusiasm of the brand’s fans around the world. The success of the online sales of the Panigale V4 S reinforces this result.”
The sale started on the afternoon of July 25 and was reserved for Ducati’s best customers, who had access to the digital platform to buy their idol’s bike. In the first minutes after the system was opened, Jack Miller’s engine number 43 was sold, followed by number 63 from race winner Pecco Bagnaia and number 5 from Johann Zarco. In the following hours all the others were sold.
“The Panigale V4 S from the Lenovo Race of Champions are unique collectibles. The race’s worldwide success further added to their value. We have decided to prioritize our best enthusiastic customers: a way to thank them and to fuel their enthusiasm for our bikes,” said Francesco Milicia, VP Global Sales & After Sales Ducati.
“The choice for online sales has been made in line with our strategy of using digital services to extend and enhance the Ducatisti experience and, in this particular case, to give immediate access to everyone at the same time around the world. The speed with which the bikes were sold confirms that many were hooked up as they looked forward to the platform opening.”
