You probably wouldn’t give it to him, but the Mercedes-Benz GLB has been on the market for 3 years now. Mercedes-Benz is therefore preparing a facelift for its optional third-row SUV-like SUV.

In mid-2019, Mercedes-Benz pulled the curtain on a completely new addition to its compact model family. Crossover GLA got the more SUV-esque GLB side by side. A car that, despite its length of about 4.65 meters, was also offered with a third row of seats. Yes, that makes the GLB an optional seven-seater. The GLB is also directly one of the reasons why the new GLC has recently grown a size. For example, the GLB was simply more spacious than the GLC it was positioned under in 2019. The GLC has since been renewed and the complete compact model range from Mercedes-Benz is waiting for a facelift. In these pictures you see the renewed cap for the first time.

Subtle

We see a red Mercedes-Benz GLB with AMG Line package that ostensibly awaits the arrival of new bumpers and redesigned headlights. Undoubtedly, the light signature at the rear will also be slightly overhauled, but it is not very clear what exactly is being adjusted.

Mercedes-Benz CAP

Mercedes-Benz recently indicated that it will shift its focus more to the higher segments where profit margins are higher. This has consequences for Mercedes’ more compact model range. It is thinned out quite nicely. The A and B class are reportedly disappearing, the CLA seems to be spared. Given the popularity of ‘high’ models, the GLA and GLB will probably also remain, so the GLB seems to have a long career.

The GLB is available with an extensive range of petrol and diesel engines and includes a sporty AMG GLB35 version. In addition, Mercedes-Benz also sells a fully electric version of the GLB with the EQB with a modified front and rear.

Mercedes-Benz Cap in the Netherlands

A total of 1,283 CAPs were sold in the Netherlands between 2020 and July 2022. In 2021, its first full year of sales, 713 units left the Dutch showrooms. The GLB has a starting price of €55,321 in the Netherlands. For that amount you get the 136 hp GLB 180 as Business Line. Prices go up to €92,310 for the AMG GLB35.
