Tooth tighter
You know the RS designation from cars like the Ford Focus and various extra sporty models from Audi and Porsche. Now the hybrid Honda Jazz also gets an RS version, but it will of course not be as sporty as its name might suggest.
Honda is introducing a sporty RS version of the Honda Jazz in its home country of Japan. The RS version of the Jazz, of which Honda is now releasing the first photos, is a hybrid, just like the version available here only as e:HEV. Honda has not yet released details about the powertrain, although it does say that the Jazz RS has ‘a higher engine power’ and must steer tighter than the regular versions.
The Jazz e:HEV in Europe as Crossstar has a grille with horizontal slats, the less adventurous versions get a semi-closed grille between the headlights. The RS version gets its own copy, complete with sportier-looking mesh work. Honda also gives the Jazz RS other bumpers, paddle shifters with which you can choose the degree of energy recovery and to the left of the instrumentation a button with which you choose the driving mode. Honda also says that the Jazz RS has a more direct throttle response than the already known versions of the car.
In the Netherlands kicks the hybrid Jazz e:HEV to a system power of 109 hp. As mentioned, it is not yet known how powerful the RS version is. In addition to the Crossstar, the Jazz can be ordered in the Netherlands as Comfort, Elegance and Executive. For the time being, we do not expect the Jazz RS on the market here. Would you be interested in a more sporty Jazz RS?
