Even with W12

The Mulliner department of Bentley is about to draw the curtain of a very exclusive newcomer. On August 21, we are introduced to the Bentley Mulliner Batur, a hand-built luxury coupé of which the British are presenting us a second teaser plate today.
Mulliner is the department within Bentley where you have to knock to fulfill your wishes that cannot be realized by Bentley’s normal product range. You can contact Mulliner for special materials, but also for complete exclusive models. For example, Bentley Mulliner introduced the Bacalar, which was limited to 12 pieces in 2020. That car will soon have a sequel in the form of the Bentley Mulliner Batur.

The 2020 Bentley Bacalar.
Like the Bacalar, the Batur is named after a body of water. This time not to a lake in Mexico, but to a pool of water with an area of 16 square kilometers in a crater on Bali. That doesn’t seem to be the only thing the Batur has in common with the Bacalar. It seems that the Batur shares its technical basis with the Continental GT.
However, the Bentley Mulliner Batur will be more than just a limited edition and therefore undoubtedly an excruciatingly expensive car. For example, Bentley will introduce a design language at Batur that it will apply to its electric cars in the future. The first fully electric Bentley is scheduled for 2025. However, do not expect an electric motor or battery pack in the Batur. With this, the British also pay tribute to the mighty 6.0 W12, the twelve-cylinder that, given the European electrical future, is no longer allowed to live long. Bentley describes the Batur as ‘the ultimate GT’ and given the well-known Continental GT, that raises quite high expectations.
No new model without a passage about hip materials, so Bentley stuffs the Batur with things like 18-carat gold that comes out of the 3D printer and leather that released ‘little CO2’ in the production process. We are especially curious how Bentley shapes its future and we will find out on 21 August.
