Used sedans, plug stations and GTIs

You can buy AutoWeek 33 from Wednesday in the store or expect it in your mailbox this week. In this issue you will find, among other things, double tests between two used middle class sedans, plug-in hybrid station wagons and two GTIs from Volkswagen.
You can already see them in the photo above; this week we put the Mazda 6 next to the Peugeot 508. Two young used copies to be precise. The Netherlands used to drive mainly in representative sedans from brands such as Opel, Peugeot, Nissan, Mazda and Volkswagen. That is different now and the second-hand supply is therefore scarce. But they are still there. This gives you an above-average fine car with both the Peugeot and the Mazda.

The smaller brother of the Peugeot 508, the 308, may also take up this number. Our endurance test-308 SW takes on a competitor from our own country: the Renault Mégane Estate. Both with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The Renault is the older of the two, but do you notice the difference in age that way?
Do you need more spirited driving at the expense of some space? Then a hot hatch maybe something for you. Volkswagen has a reputation to uphold in this area. Of course there are also GTI versions of the current Golf and Polo, which may be closer together than ever. On the track we find out whether the ‘little GTI’ is a serious alternative.

In the used car field you will of course come across more in this issue than just the double test with the Mazda 6 and Peugeot 508. There is also a new episode of the Barrelbrigade, in which the gentlemen are going to polish their barrels. Let’s see if you can turn a turd into a moorhead.
The regular feature is, of course, Klokje Rond, with this time an Audi A4 of 22 years old in the leading role. Maurice Maurits bought his Audi A4 two years ago for the mere amount of €465. He did not yet have a driver’s license at the time and that has not changed, partly due to the intervention of corona. We are very curious about the subcutaneous state of the Audi. What can you expect for that money?

AutoWeek 33 will be in stores this week from Wednesday. Would you rather not go out? Order from the comfort of your home the latest number. Then it will be delivered to your doorstep within two working days.
