It is striking that a number of models that were in the top 10 last time have disappeared. These are mainly EV models that cannot or can hardly be supplied due to chip shortages.
Good news coming?
It has been more than a year and a half waiting for sufficient supplies of chips and other necessary parts. Mercedes-Benz, which is at #1 with the C-Class and #7 with the GLC, is positive and let Bloomberg know last June that there are almost no more chip shortages. There is, however, a huge backlog that needs to be made up and production is closely monitored.

BMW fills the lease top 10 with no fewer than four models. The 5-series is even at #2, followed by the iX3 at #3, the i4 is at #5. BMW is a little more cautious when it comes to chip shortages. The situation is more stable than last year, but is being closely monitored.
Tesla’s Elon Musk, who is at #7 with the Tesla model Y, is a lot less optimistic and calls firing staff an option.
Volvo reports that the situation in the supply chain has improved significantly. However, this manufacturer is cautious because not all backlogs have been made up yet.
The sales figures will show in the coming period.
