Just over 3 cents difference

Bad news for diesel drivers: you now spend almost the same for a liter of diesel as for a liter of petrol. On Friday, the difference in the Average National Recommended Price is only 3.3 euro cents.
It doesn’t make much difference if you lose as much for a liter of diesel as for a liter of petrol. Figures from UnitedConsumers show that the Average National MSRP for diesel on Friday is €2.156, for petrol it is €2.189. A difference of only 3.3 cents. In one fell swoop, the difference has shrunk by no less than 4.7 cents. The GLA price of petrol is the same as on Thursday, while diesel has become 4.7 cents more expensive.
If the price of diesel continues to rise, the fuel will be even more expensive than petrol in no time. At the beginning of this month, the difference was still more than 8 cents, in May it was even 27 cents, when the difference rose sharply again, contrary to the expectations of experts. It is a thorn in the side for diesel drivers, because the mrb for a self-igniter is considerably higher than for a comparable petrol car. The tipping point, at which it is cheaper to drive a diesel car, is getting higher and higher and may soon even disappear completely.
The rise in diesel prices is partly due to shortages. Bloomberg reports that the deficit for Europe is approaching 1.5 million barrels per day. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), this is not only due to less imports from Russia, but also because oil products are increasingly being used as an alternative to the currently very expensive gas.
