Harley-Davidson has presented its first news for 2023 with the announcement of the Limited Edition Low Rider El Diablo. The Low Rider El Diablo is the latest model in Harley’s Icons Collection, which, according to the Americans, combines unique paint with impressive performance.

The Icons Collection is a unique series of motorcycles inspired by some of Harley-Davidson’s most recognizable and sought-after models. Each Icon in the collection pays homage to H-D’s signature colours, designs and components, but combined with the latest technology. Each limited edition model is individually numbered and produced only once. Every year a minimum of one and a maximum of two new Icons are presented.
“The Low Rider El Diablo is a modern take on the iconic 1983 Harley-Davidson FXRT and a reflection of the creative era it was born into,” said Brad Richards, Vice President of Design and Creative Director – Motorcycles at Harley-Davidson. “This machine embodies the Southern California counter culture of the ’80s in a contemporary package with meticulously crafted custom paint, including pinstripes, in a very deep bow to the original FXRT.”
According to Harley, the Low Rider El Diablo is built to push the limits of style and sporty touring performance to the limit. The bike combines hard saddlebags and a frame-mounted ‘Batman’ fairing with the taut handling of the Softail chassis and the punchy power of the Milwaukee Eight 117 V-Twin.
Harley has limited global production of the Low Rider El Diablo to a one-off production run of 1,500 units, which is expected to arrive at Harley dealers in the fall of this year.
The basis for El Diablo was the Low Rider ST, with a very special color scheme that starts with a base of El Diablo Bright Red, on which a second layer of Bright Red Sunglo has been applied.

The red pinstripes are masked and a layer of El Diablo Dark Red and Dark Red Pearl is faded around the panel surfaces to give depth. After masking, a coat of El Diablo Dark Red Metallic is applied to surround the El Diablo Bright Red shade, with a fade effect where the colors converge for added depth.
Then removing the masking reveals El Diablo Bright Red pinstripes on the saddlebags, tank, fenders and fairing. Pale Gold pinstriping is then applied by hand to the El Diablo Bright Red panels. The El Diablo Bright Red Sunglo is formulated with a tinted clear element to create a “candy” effect.
Black finishes on the powertrain, front end and exhaust accentuate the El Diablo livery. Cast aluminum Radiate wheels are finished in contrasting Matte Dark Bronze.
The paint is hand applied by the artisans at Gunslinger Custom Paint in Golden, Colorado. The Gunslinger team of renowned painters, designers, artists and production team leaders has decades of experience as a supplier of custom painted parts for Harley-Davidson Custom Vehicle Operations motorcycles and Limited Edition paint finishes.
Besides the fact that El Diablo looks super cool, Harley has also made sure that it sounds super cool, thanks to the Rockford Fosgate audio system that is available as an accessory with the standard ST. The system connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth to play stored or streamed audio through a pair of built-in two-way speakers.

For all that beauty, you have to dig deep into your pocket. The Low Rider El Diablo has a price tag from € 35,995, where the standard Low Rider ST can be yours for € 27,495.
