I have had my period for over a year or even almost 2 years, but I have also grown a bit in those years. Will I stop growing if I start taking the pill now?
Answer
Best,
You stop growing as soon as your body produces enough female hormone (estrogen). If your body produces it itself and you also get your period, you will stop growing after you have gone through another small growth spurt. The hormones will close your cartilage discs (at the end of your bones) from which you grow.
If you start taking a pill before you’ve grown out (i.e. haven’t reached your natural height yet) you will indeed stop growing. You should therefore only start taking a pill at the earliest about two years after your periods started. to be. You will have grown out at that moment and the pill will not have stopped that process prematurely.
Kind regards,
