Shoei MM93 collection: 4 unique helmets

The collaboration between Marc Marquez and Shoei goes back to 2010, when the then 17-year-old Spanish driver won his first world title. Twelve years and eight world titles later, Shoei has released a special MM93 collection, which includes no less than 4 models.

Shoei MM93 collection: 4 unique helmets

Back in the day, at the height of the Supersport era when every supersport rider was wearing a one-piece overall with racing boots and gloves, racing replicas were hard to come by, but nowadays the proportion of replicas is minimal. Partly because we have switched to protective lifestyle clothing on the street and a screaming racing replica doesn’t fit well with that.

With the launch of the MM93 collection, they have come up with something at Shoei. No less than four models are equipped with a special, but above all subtle, MM93 design designed by Dave Design. The special thing about the collection is that Shoei has not only gone for the top models, but has included four different models.

Starting with the NXR2 MM93 Rush, based on NXR2 introduced last year. The successor to the popular NXR received, among other things, a completely redesigned helmet shell and many important improvements were made. The already rich color and design spectrum has now been expanded with an equally subtle and eye-catching grey/silver/black Marc Marquez version.

The same colors also form the basis for the Neotec II MM93 Collection 2-Way. However, Shoei’s versatile flip-up helmet is not matte, but glossy, with the dark basic colors contrasting nicely with the bright red MM93 logo on the back.

That red can also be found to a greater extent in the design of the GT-Air II MM93 Road, the sporty touring helmet from Shoei with, among other things, an integrated sun canopy and a practical ratchet quick release.

The most striking helmet from the new Marquez collection is without a doubt the EX Zero. A vintage retro helmet, whose shell shape is based on that of the famous EX line from the early 1980s, was of course not immediately obvious. The MM93 design of the EX-Zero is therefore characterized by many more classic lines in the spirit of the retro helmet.

The MM93 models of the Neotec II, GT-Air II and NXR2 will be in the shops from October, for the EX-Zero MM93 you have to be patient until February. The prices are respectively €759 (Neotec II), €639 (NXR2), €689 (GT-Air II) and €549.00 (EX-Zero).
