Is there a cure for psoriasis?

Asker: daniel, 54 years old

Answer

Psoriasis cannot be cured yet, but it can be treated well. Psoriasis can be treated with topical means (ointment, cream, lotions), light or with oral medication. The more severe the psoriasis, the heavier the therapy will be and the more likely it is to have side effects.
The medication for psoriasis fights the consequences and not the disease itself.

Local treatments: vitamin D3 (inhibits the production of skin cells), cortisone (basic treatment, can cause serious side effects).

Light therapy: Pill+UVA, UVB, laser

Systemic (intake or injection) treatments: methotrexate, retinoids and cyclosporine.

Alternative therapy: swimming, climatotherapy, diet, homeopathy/acupuncture, meditation/relaxation and skin care products.
