The brand new BMW 4 Series is one of the most photographed prototypes of 2020. Once again the car shows up, testing at the Nürburgring. The long wait is almost rewarded.
The arrival of a new BMW 4-series is of course big news, but now the biggest surprise has long since passed. For a year now, a fairly comparable test sample has appeared almost every month. The fact that the 4-series grille has two enormous ‘kidneys’ has also been known for a while. BMW has recently shown the car itself, albeit with the necessary camouflage decoration. Although the brand on that car still tried to hide the true face, it has already been clear what we can expect from it.
On this car it is already quite clear how the grille, the air intakes and other details of the new 4-series will look on the whole. The 4-series looks a bit more aggressive than its predecessor and certainly more than the current 3-series. The dimensions confirm that image: the ‘4’ is 5.7 centimeters lower than the ‘3’ and has a 2.3 centimeter wider track width at the rear. In addition, the large hip section ensures a much sportier shape. The most powerful version at the launch is the 374 hp M440i xDrive. Naturally, in the long run, an M4 will also be released, which reportedly pulls around 500 hp from its 3.0-liter six-in-line. Of course, there will also be an open version, which has also appeared several times as a test car for the camera. The coupé and convertible will probably also be joined by a five-door Gran Coupé brother in due course.
