Keeping up with inflation, good or bad?

Inflation is skyrocketing. Nevertheless, Justice Minister Dilan Yesilgöz wants to increase the fines for common traffic violations next year and there was quite something to do. It is high time to make the following statement: ‘I think it is right that traffic fines should be higher’.
The amount of fines for common traffic violations will increase by about 8.6 percent next year, it was announced at the beginning of September. The reasoning? In this way, the amount of the fines increases with inflation and Minister Yesilgöz of Justice sees no reason to refrain from doing so. Leaving the fines unchanged would make them relatively cheaper, is the reading.
We have chosen not to allow certain fines to exceed €450. The targeted increase in fines of 8.6 percent would yield the following new fines for common violations. Mind you, the Council of State still has to decide on the plans outside and the House itself can still be a problem.
- Running a red light: €250 to €280
- Calling behind the wheel: €350 to €380
- Driving on the left unnecessarily: €220 to €240
- Turning without indicating direction: €100 to €110
- Not wearing a seat belt: €150 to €160
Time for a voting round, in which we posit the following statement:
“I think it’s right that traffic fines should be higher.”
Can you find yourself in that? Why yes, or why not? Are you of the camp ‘as long as you stick to the rules, you don’t have to incur the costs’?
You can give multiple answers.
