Taking care of yourself

With the GR Supra, Toyota has answered the demand for a sporty coupé. Until now, the Toyota GR Supra was only available with an automatic transmission, but from now on the coupé is also available with a manual six-speed gearbox. AutoWeek has won the first prizes of the GR Supra with manual gearbox.
Toyota and BMW have successively developed the basis of the GR Supra and the Z4 together, after which the two brands have each gone their own way. The Toyota GR Supra is available with a 258 hp 2.0 four-cylinder and a 340 hp 3.0 in-line six. Those engines both come from BMW and until now have always been linked to an eight-speed automatic. Until now, indeed. The six-cylinder Toyota GR Supra is now also available in the Netherlands with a six-speed manual transmission. This gives the sporty Toyota an edge over the BMW Z4.
Although the BMW Z4 with 2.0 is available in markets other than the Dutch both with an automatic transmission and with a manual gearbox, BMW only supplies the roadster with an automatic transmission. Toyota does give the GR Supra a manual gearbox, although the manufacturer connects it with the six-cylinder instead of the four-cylinder. Before Toyota announces it itself, AutoWeek can already tell you the prices of the Toyota GR Supra with manual gearbox.
