These are the most popular brands and models
For the second month in a row, the Dutch sales figures show a plus again. Almost 26,000 new passenger cars were registered in September, just under 5 percent more than in the same month last year. This is evident from figures from the Bovag, RAI Association and RDC.
In September 25,792 new passenger cars were registered. That is 4.8 percent more than in the same month last year. It is the second month in a row that the Dutch registrations no longer show a decrease, although we are dealing with a smaller plus than a month ago. In August, the number of registered new passenger cars increased by 9.2 percent compared to the same month a year earlier.
Now that the figures for September are known, we also know how many cars were registered in the Netherlands in the first nine months of this year. In the period January-September, 224,944 new passenger cars were registered in the Netherlands. That is 4.6 percent less than in the same period in 2021. The Bovag and RAI Association expect that between 300,000 and 320,000 new passenger cars will be registered in the whole of 2022. Previously, the trade associations predicted that we would reach 370,000 units in 2022.
Kia was again the most popular car brand in the Netherlands in September. If we look at the registration figures in the first three quarters of this year, the brand is also the winner. The Peugeot 208, again the most popular car in the Netherlands this month, can call itself the best-selling car in the Netherlands to date.
