SUV for comfort, or not?
AutoWeek 40 is for sale in the store from Wednesday or you will receive it in the letterbox this week. We’ve got a lot of big SUVs for you in this issue. It starts with the new BMW XM, but there is also a Chinese SUV from Hongqi. And we test a Jaguar E-Pace against a Mazda CX-60. As a counterbalance, we have a Peugeot 308 as a station wagon and as a hatchback.
The Chinese Hongqi – best known for its large state limousines – is coming to the Netherlands and kicking off with an electric full-size SUV. What should we imagine with this comfort bubble drawn by the former design chief of Rolls-Royce? Cornelis Kit was already on the road to find out!

Another monstrously large SUV already shines on the news pages at the front of the magazine: the all-new BMW XM. Are you more interested in less flashy SUVs that can still really pamper you? Then take a look at the double test between the Mazda CX-60 and the renewed Jaguar E-Pace. Both plug-ins, still a nice intermediate between just petrol and fully electric, especially because the electric range of this technology is increasing. And as these red cannons show, you quickly get a lot of power for your money.
Are you fond of comfort and do you not feel like an SUV? Then Citroën may have the ideal car for you; the C5 X. In a world that demands more and more from people, are you really looking for an active car, where you have to work as a driver? They must have thought that at Citroën when they came up with the C5 X. Peace and luxury predominate. ‘Delicious’, says editor-in-chief Damiaan Hage, who drove the 225 hp plug-in hybrid C5 X.

The same powertrain as the C5 X can of course also be found at group partner Peugeot. For example in the Peugeot 308, but not in our endurance tester. It has the 180 hp version of that plug-in hybrid powertrain, but for only €1,500 more you do have the 225 hp version. That sounds like a good deal, but is it? Marco Gorter finds out.
