Hybrid battle, an R and a GT3 RS

Today Opel builds or SUVs, but they remain Opels: sensible, spacious and practical. That’s the exact opposite of what Cupra builds. Two sides of the same coin, so to speak. Yet these two (you can see them above) in this issue oppose each other.
Another double test with two SUVs is a bit different. After all, we are dealing here with two identical cars, with the powertrain as the difference. One is a plug-in hybrid, the other is just a hybrid, but they do have the same 1.6 T-GDI petrol engine in the nose. The price difference is also minimal. Time to take a closer look.
A car we want to know everything about is the Nio ET7. After all, that should be a formidable competitor to the Tesla Model S. After all, Nio also likes to see himself as ‘the Tesla of China’. We know that you have to be good at making it difficult for the established electric order, so let’s see if the ET7 makes a good first impression at all.
A large car with a very thick diesel engine, that doesn’t make you happy with the current diesel prices, does it? Well, really. Maarten Meulemeesters is the owner of this Maserati Quattroporte Diesel and is very happy with it. “It will be difficult to top this car,” he says. He enthusiastically informs us about the how and why of his choice.
Less exclusive, but nice and sporty is the Volkswagen Golf R that is a guest this week in Op de Rollenbank. If there’s one car that has the attention of tuners, it’s the Golf R. But how does a car like that do when it’s all standard? Except for the exhaust, owner Rowan didn’t change anything about his car and it will remain that way. Now let’s see how it is with the promised 310 hp.
Finally, you will read (in addition to much more beautiful things) about an extensive endurance test with a Mercedes-Benz A-class (A220 d). Our German colleagues from AutoBild drove more than 100,000 km with it, only to disassemble the car down to the last screw to check its condition. “We have been through a lot and had a lot of fun with this compact Benz. We will miss it.”
