Volvo will soon unveil the EX90, the electric alternative to an XC90. In the run-up to the unveiling, it is of course time for teasers, in this case of the interior.
The all-electric Volvo EX90, which would first be called Volvo Embla, is Volvo’s first model on the new SPA2 platform, a base that also includes the new Polestar 3. Compared to the Polestar, the Volvo is slightly more traditional and practical. At least, that’s what we think based on what we’ve seen of the car now. The EX90 gets a fairly traditional SUV shape, but in combination with ultramodern technology.
Volvo is now showing some images of the EX90’s interior for the first time. We cannot yet discover broad outlines on this, but a first impression of the atmosphere can. That atmosphere is, how could it be otherwise, tidy and calming. The typical Volvo style, much appreciated by many, is expressed in calm shapes, natural-looking materials and soft, warm lighting. In the photo of the dashboard part, it is noticeable that one large, wide ventilation grille is placed in front of the passenger seat. It combines the grille on the side of the passenger door and that right next to the screen, at least visually.
Of course, according to the makers, sustainability plays a major role. That is why a lot of ‘Nordico’ is used in the interior of the EX90, a material from recycled PET bottles, among other things. We also find FSC-certified wood in the car. Wool mix upholstery, as is also available in the XC60 and XC90, will of course also be an option in the EX90.
The Volvo EX90 will be unveiled in Stockholm on November 9. Of course we are literally right on top of that.
